
CLASS
DESCRIPTIONS

BALLET
Ballet is the foundation of all dance and will maximize technique in all styles. Ballet classes will help students with flexibility, fitness, grace, balance, self- discipline and self-confidence. Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre and center floor including adagio and allegro work along with across-the-floor variations.
JAZZ
Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythm and patterns. Students will learn various styles of jazz dance from Commercial Jazz to Broadway Jazz. This class includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across- the-floor progressions and choreography combinations. A popular class among all ages.


TAP
Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles that fall under Broadway or Commercial/Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility and strength of the knees and ankles, coordination and speed of movement. A high energy class that is tons of fun!
LYRICAL
This dance style is a combination of ballet and jazz that challenges dancers to use choreography and movement to interpret music and express emotion. Dancers learn to express emotion derived from the lyrics of the music to convey the meaning of the dance, therefore resulting in storytelling through movement. This class is designed for intermediate to advanced dancers who also train in ballet.

ACRO
This style is an art form that incorporates the fluid movements of dance with the exciting tricks from acrobatics. We refer to this style as “Gymnastics for Dancers” which focuses on flexibility, muscle control, balance, tumbling technique and strength. This is a class that is a great start for our young students to start working on mat work stretches to gain flexibility and strength along with learning basic tumbling tricks which includes: cartwheels/round offs, forward & backward rolls, front walkovers and back walkovers.
CONTEMPORARY
A free flowing form of dance that incorporates elements of jazz, modern, ballet and lyrical along with styles unique to itself. This class encourages natural movement and personal interpretation. It focuses on self-expression, body and spatial awareness, the use and distribution of body weight, efficiency of muscle use and body alignment. This class is designed for intermediate to advanced dancers who also train in ballet and jazz.


HIP HOP
Hip Hop is a high energy class with a wide variety of dance moves that encompass the energetic and expressive style of this genre such as isolations, grooves, popping/locking and intricate footwork along with freestyle circles. Students will be encouraged to break out of their comfort zone by bringing their own energy, personality and style to the choreography. Hip Hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform the choreography, therefore this class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as rigorous warm up. Another popular class among all ages.
TURNS, LEAPS & JUMPS
This class is most beneficial for dancers to work towards mastering a variety of jumps and turns. Dancers will work to increase extension, flexibility, turns with more precision and various leaps. They will focus on a variety of leaps, jumps, chaine turns, pirouettes, fouettes turns etc. Leaps and Turns skill building will assist students with more refined technique and form.


POINTE
All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training and at the discretion of the instructor. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work including adagio and allegro and across-the-floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. Dancers must be enrolled in ballet class and approved by the instructor to take this class.

A style of dance that is very grounded as opposed to lyrical and Ballet. This style incorporates a lot of strenuous floorwork that requires the dancers to have incredible stamina, control and strength, along with great spatial and body awareness. This class is for the intermediate to advanced dancers who also take ballet and jazz.

TINY TOTS
A great introductory dance class for our littles. Your student will have tons of fun while dancing, tumbling, jumping, skipping, leaping and galloping along with learning rhythm through engaging activities and games.

STRENGTH & TECHNIQUE
This class is designed to build strong, balanced, and resilient dancers. Dancers will focus on building core strength, improving muscular endurance, and overall body alignment through targeted conditioning exercises. Class includes training drills to enhance power and stamina, as well as a dedicated stretch portion to improve flexibility, mobility, and recovery. Whether you’re looking to prevent injuries, increase control, or support your technique in all styles, this class is the perfect complement to any dancer’s training.
